Welcome to Team 802! I hope that you are ready for a fun year! In Social Studies this year, we will work to understand the history of Georgia and how the past helped shape our present. By the end of this course, you will be able to read and interpret information like a historian. Come in every day with an open mind and a willingness to work and collaborate. That is how we will be successful this year as a team .

         What is this class all about?

Geography

We will learn about the geographic regions and features of Georgia as well as the role that our waterways have played in the growth and development of the state. 

History

We will study the history of Georgia starting with pre-historic time periods, and we will trace the historical events and developments of the state through the 20th century. 

Government

We will learn about the development of Georgia's state government and the purpose of each of the three branches. We will also look at the role of government in the lives of Georgia citizens. 

Economics

We will discuss the role of transportation in the growth and development of Georgia's economy. We will also discuss the influences of Georgia-based businesses on our local economies.
